Natural Gas Cogeneration System for Urban Heating - Kallistone Again !

Application: Natural Gas Cogeneration System for Urban Heating
Total power: 34MW
Results Achieved: 1.8% saving 15 000 € of gas / month
Improved electrical efficiency measured: 0.5%
Return on investment ROI : 9 months

Technical details of the turbine:

This cogeneration is a simultaneous production of two different forms of energy in the same power plant. Namely, the production of electricity and useful heat, the heat being derived from the electrical production. More generally, a cogenerator values a form of energy that is usually considered waste and unused.

Cogeneration is an efficient technique for the use of fossil and renewable energies, valorising energy that is generally released into the environment, such as heat.

This turbine is fed by a DN80 gas line with a gas flow of 126.83 m3 / h (under 22.8 bar relative, same condition as outside).

A ring of power closest to the turbine is reduced to DN50, the pressure is lower (17.9 bar relative), the gross gas flow is higher, as only 95% of the gas passes through the DN50, the 5 % remaining feed the other crown to feed the pilot flame.

The hourly gas flow rate on this turbine is 3060 Nm3/h

Average gas velocity in pipe: 7m/s

Average speed of the gas in the crown: 22m/s

The fuel gas flow to the turbine is regulated by the metering valve.

The basic control logic of the gas turbine is based on the control temperature which is measured between stages 2 and 3 of the turbine by means of independent thermocouples.

Natural Gas Cogeneration System for Urban Heating have been equipped with optimization solutions KALLISTONE with a return on investment of 9 Month

Result: Reduction of the energy bills & reduction of the carbon footprint!
